I. Jesus’ words should shock people who rely on themselves to be right with God (Luke 18:18-23).
II. People are not saved by their own abilities and smarts but rather by God’s power (Luke 18:24-27).
III. There is great reward in following Jesus (Luke 18:28-30).
Main Idea: Jesus shocks self-dependent people because He shows that no one can be good enough to be right with God.
