Faith Bible supports marriages through several different distinct avenues as well as from biblical teaching from Sunday services and adult education:
Premarital Counseling/Weddings
Premarital counseling is a requirement for couples planning on having their wedding held at Faith Bible Church and is provided by the officiating pastor. The goal is to help the couple lay a biblical foundation for their marriage. Please contact the church office for help in scheduling premarital counseling.
Marriage Events
Marriage events include marriage retreats, bible studies, and Sunday school classes. Events will be communicated as they appear and approach.
Why should couples attend various marriage events? For renewed encouragement to turn to Christ, the Creator of marriage, for help, healing and hope in your marriage, is the answer. What a great chance to invest in your marriage and learn vital relationship skills, with new insights into how to talk to and listen to your spouse! You’ll come away with a better understanding of your spouse and an appreciation for your relationship strengths. Also, expect great food, fun and fellowship with other FBC couples.
Marriage Mentoring
Marriage mentoring at Faith Bible exists to teach the Biblical foundations of a healthy marriage through a personalized mentor program.
Mentoring includes:
- Four to eight sessions that are 60 to 90 minutes, usually in the mentors’ home.
- Mentors prayerfully help couples learn basic skills to draw them closer to God and each other.
The mentoring process gives an opportunity to glean wisdom, insight and perspective about situations that almost all couples encounter. Biblical communication is a cornerstone of what is taught. So whether you have been married five years or fifty, with no kids or “enough,” there are times in life when you need someone to come along side and listen. Mentoring provides that place for safe guidance in walking closer with your spouse and Christ.
Cost is 50 dollars. This fee offsets the costs of the Prepare and Enrich couple assessment tool and the printing of the various materials that support the mentoring process.
